What advice would you give?

I’ve been doing this long enough now that I find myself in situations where I’m inevitably asked “What advice would you give a young person aspiring to be a cartoonist/animator/director/graphic novel artist?” And every time it happens I feel a bit frozen. I’ve usually defaulted to cliche responses like “Just keep drawing” or “Do what you love” and frankly that’s pretty pedestrian advice. And yet partially true.

At least for me. I’ve always just kept drawing for sure. It’s been my go to comfort zone from an early age.
